Both parents of your puppy have undergone full health testing this includes:

· Full DNA breed profile, to check for common genetic diseases in the Labrador and Poodle. We Use Orivet health testing to test for 31 diseases that can be hereditary. All our breeding dogs will be determined clear of these diseases based on the results.

· Hips and elbows scored using the Rodger Lavelle method.

Elbows: X-rays are taken of each elbow and sent off for assessment. The conformation of the elbow and any signs of osteoarthritis is assessed and then given a score. We will only breed from dogs with a score of 0 and 0 in each elbow. A score of 0 means the elbow has no conformational issues and no signs of osteoarthritis. 

Hips: The Rodger Lavelle Scoring Scheme requires a very specific and carefully positioned X-ray of the hips. The image is then sent off to a panel of experts who will grade each of the hips against different criteria. We ensure that all breeding dogs have a score under 15 as per the Australian Labradoodle Association recommendations. 

Owners responsibility: 

· Reasonable care is taken to prevent hip dysplasia i.e. paying careful attention to diet and recommended exercise when they're pups and ensuring they don't become overweight to prevent excessive pressure being placed upon the joints. Other strategies include ensuring you assist your pup with stairs by lifting them in/out of the car and placing a stairgate on your home if you live in a double story house. 

· Ensuring your Cypress Labradoodle is up to date with vaccinations and worming/parasite treatment.

· If an owner fails to take these precautions the health guarantee will be void.

· Cypress Labradoodles reserve the right to consult a veterinarian of our choice if any issues arise, prior to reimbursement being offered.

There is ongoing research surrounding what is the best age is to desex a puppy. It is important to consider the individual puppy and your circumstances at home when considering when to desex. This conversation should be had between your breeder and vet to help guide you on a decision. 

Cypress Labradoodles use SpaySecure to provide binding contracts so that our puppies can gain the possible health benefits from waiting to desex. SpaySecure will follow up with you to provide advice and reminders, ensuring your puppy gets desexed. Alternatively we can arrange to have your puppy desexed for you prior to collection.
